How to Start a Tournament:
4th Quarter Touchdown Football
is a great game for tournament
play at Super Bowl parties, football parties, card
parties, game clubs, sports bars, etc. The
game is designed so that all players have an equal
chance of winning, even if players don't know alot
about football.
In tournament play you need to make sure that you
have an even number of teams to play. Start by printing
the "TEAM TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE" from the
chart on the right, for the number of teams you have
( 8, 16 or 32). Each schedule also contains a tournament
tree. Then add team names into the chart next to the
numbers. Follow
the schedule, matching the numbers to the numbers
beside your teams name. This will show you who you
are playing in the first round. The game play is a
double round robin, which means that every team is
guaranteed to play two games. Then
teams play there first game. When the first games
are over, the names of the teams that lost are placed
on the B tournament tree and names of the teams that
won are placed on the A tournament tree.

The example above shows that
in Conference A - team 1 vs team 2 and team 3 vs team
4 then the winning teams - team 2 and team 3 play
each other. In this example team 3 is the winner.
This is repeated in Conference B and when the tree
is complete the final winner of the A team plays the
final winner of the B team and the tournament Champion
is the winner of this final game!
